Dun & Bradstreet's 185 Years of Innovation and Commercial Trust Chronicled in New 'America 250' Documentary Series

JACKSONVILLE, FL, UNITED STATES, September 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- With the United States continuing its 250th anniversary celebration, Dun & Bradstreet is marking 185 years of helping businesses and financial institutions make more confident decisions, build stronger relationships, and drive economic growth. To commemorate the occasion, the company is featured in a new documentary series, America 250, which profiles companies and leaders helping shape the nation's next chapter.

The film includes interviews with CEO Stephen Tulenko and Chief Marketing & Communications Officer Michele Caselnova, examining Dun & Bradstreet's role in the evolution of American commerce. Spanning nearly two centuries, the documentary traces the company's journey from handwritten business records to the data and technology supporting today's AI-enabled economy.

“In many ways, Dun & Bradstreet has been a true innovator throughout American history. In the 1840s, we created the correspondent network to help businesses understand who they were doing business with beyond their local communities. Today, as AI changes how decisions are made, we’re providing context to AI models with a trusted set of information that helps organizations make decisions with confidence,” said Stephen Tulenko, CEO of Dun & Bradstreet.

Dun & Bradstreet's correspondent network marked a turning point in how businesses evaluated one another and is one of the defining stories featured in the documentary. The company's early correspondents gathered local business information, enabling merchants and lenders to assess companies beyond their immediate communities. Their handwritten reports, including those prepared by future U.S. presidents, are preserved today in the R.G. Dun & Company collection at Harvard Business School's Baker Library.

As commerce expanded and new eras of technology emerged, Dun & Bradstreet introduced commercial credit ratings, the D-U-N-S® Number and, today, the D&B Commercial Graph™, helping organizations better understand business identity, relationships and risk. While the technology has evolved, the company's role has remained the same: helping organizations know who they're doing business with and make decisions with confidence.

The America 250 documentary, featuring Dun & Bradstreet, premiered on the 10th September. Additional viewing information will be available at https://www.usatoday.com/story/sponsor-story/acumen-usa250/2026/09/10/helping-businesses-make-decisions-with-confidence/91658855007/.
